He had tubes put in his ears to drain the fluid that has been there for more than six months, and possibly much longer. Here&#8217;s a few pictures of his trip to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2393-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>A few smiles for the camera, despite the 5:30am wake up.&nbsp; Such a handsome boy!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"padding-top 68px; padding-bottom: 18px;\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7yt1D1ehu5Q\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Took this video to make sure we had his pre-surgery voice recorded.&nbsp; His annunciation was already improved on the drive home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2397-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>His new friend he got from the nurse.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2402-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>Mommy leading by example.&nbsp; Unfortunately, Thomas refused to wear any of the hospital gowns and went into surgery in only his underwear.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2403-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>One last smile for the camera before being carried off by Mommy to the operating room.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2404-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>There they go.&nbsp; He got to sit on Mommy&#8217;s lap while they put him under.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2405-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>Success!&nbsp; Everything we well.&nbsp; The first thing Thomas did when he woke up was ask for Mommy.&nbsp; He&#8217;s such a Mommy&#8217;s boy, and Mommy eats it up.&nbsp; So cute!<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2407-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>Still a little dazed.&nbsp; He proclaimed after surgery that he couldn&#8217;t hear his own voice.&nbsp; Poor kid.&nbsp; His ears were so full of fluid, he didn&#8217;t even recognize his own voice post surgery.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2408-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>Feeling a little better and playing some Angry Birds.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chrismphillips.com\/family\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/20130412_2410-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\"><\/p>\n<p>Almost ready to go home.&nbsp; He&#8217;s enjoying his first food or drink since the previous night&#8217;s dinner.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thomas went for surgery today.
